He is covering the original by Nine Inch Nails instead of Cash’s version.

While not on par with the Cash version, which by the way Reznor said “it’s his song now” speaking of Cash. I think it is a great performance, and think Arron is a fantastic performer himself. I am glad to see that Aaron used the original lyrics instead of usings Cash’s altered lyrics

i saw many covers of this song, Breaking Benjamin, Sevendust, Master Cash, Mr. Lewis and so many others but when i say NIN playing this song live, was realy orgasmic, and not in bad sense, its the one of the most beatiful experience i ever had, i dont wanna say that the others artist are crap because that guys are cool (sorry for my english)

  19. MrWesleyaustin says:

the verse is just Aminor,Cmajor, Dmajor,
    the choruse is Gmajor, Amajor,Cmajor

  20. BlackRainEntertain says:

huhu i’m searching for the guitar tabs of this cover version plz help^^ pmb

Continued-sorry, ran out of room. Johnny’s version is beautiful and heart-wrenching and his voice is haunting. It’s Johnny Cash. It’s his style. I’ve seen Aaron live a few times, and no one can evoke emotion through his voice quite like Aaron does-I personally think he is one of the best vocalists in rock, and I am crazy about his voice. He can make pretty much anything sound good. I am a huge fan of all three, so I think all three versions are awesome in their own way.

  22. brwneyedgurl82 says:

Ok, everyone is arguing about who’s version is better, so I have to put my two cents in. First of all, Trent Reznor wrote this song in 1994, and it has been covered several times since then, most notably of course by Johnny Cash, who is a legend and brilliant in his own rite. They all sound a little different b/c all 3 singers have their own style and put their own spin on it. I saw NIN play it live, and let me tell you it was incredible-chills through my whole body.

  23. BlackRainEntertain says:

before you vote me down(sure you’ll do every jhonny cash fan and nine inch nails fan will lol. look the other videos from jhonny and NIN from this song if you real think that nin’S or jhonny’S version is better you have to be an idiot you have all ears too?? in my comments i don’t want to diss NiN or Jhonny both are on their on kind great artists^^

  24. BlackRainEntertain says:

i think the best job to put feelings in a song did aaron lewis hmm i mean feelings… a big word and nine inch nails put a lotta feelings on theire quiet kind of that song too but when i hear the 3 versions, i get touched the most from aaron lewis’s cover version wath do you think? ^^

  25. BlackRainEntertain says:

i don’t know how you see it. but i searched found and heard the version of nine inch nails and jhonny cash over and over again but… first nine inch nail.. this song is so quiet you cannot hear a word lol jhonny cash had no voice so he sings the chorus on the same plant like the rest of the song, and the chords from aaron are a lotta more difficult as these of jhonny
